this website gives me anxiety and stress acne. I actually loved the school though when I toured, which is why I care so much. Meanwhile, everyone is dying over UF here in Florida just because of the name.
@hssenior2019yay iām in florida too!
Cant sleep:/I really hope it comes out Friday so I can move on already!! My test scores put me in the bottom 5-10% of admitted students- and that includes the scores of recruited athletes for chapel hill. I have been wanting to go to this school since freshmen year and worked extra hardā¦ I just am a bad test taker. We all have worked so hard to get into this school and I wish everyone luck. Remember getting in does not dictate your self worth and you will be okay.
Can anyone help me out with chances? I visited unc over the summer and loved it. Iām OOS from NY in a competitive public school, Iām in the top 20% of my class and plan to major in finance. I took the act twice and got a 32,32 with superscored 34. I also took subject test and got a 770 on math 2 and a 740 on us history and submitted both. Iām president/VP of 3 clubs, have run track since freshman year and work 40 hours a week in the summer. Despite this, Iām still genuinely worried due to them only having 18% OOS and not being in the top 10% of my class. Thanks !
What time do the decisions usually come out? Iāve read 12 pm and 4 pm.
This is giving me so much anxiety lmao. Istg if they donāt come out on Friday weāre all gonna be so bummed.
if anyone feels to see the chances of getting into UNC, visit this link and see students who have gotten into unc or rejected and compare them to your stats: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/215577-can-more-graduated-seniors-do-actual-results-threads-p9.html
Does anyone know about what time of day the decisions come out?
Hope they come tomorrow, really need some closure. Iād rather get rejected than waitlisted.
hey everyone i have a question! i tried logging into my carolina portal account, but when i did it wouldnāt let me in so i hit reset password and when i did i plugged in my email and birthdate and it said āthere is no account for that emailā But i remember making one because i checked the account regularly for a while. so what does this mean and what should i do??
Did anyone else receive an email from UNC saying the decisions will not come out today (1/23) or tomorrow (1/24)?
It came in my inbox at 5:10PM.
@Gooder Yes i think they sent it to everyone
@Julsiee I think around 4 pm because thatās what it was last year
@madison112 I had the same problem, just email admissions and theyāll fix it for you.
Florida here also; son applied EA to UNC. Even with a 35 on ACT and a Class Rank of 7 out of nearly 600 students, all 5s on AP Exams, captain of Lacrosse Team, and Drum Major he is not to confident that UNC will accept him.
ok so whatever day they release decisions, its likely to be around 4 right?
@ParentOf2019Grad If thatās not trying to flex then idk what is.
The ānot today or tomorrowā email always comes out on the Wednesday two days before results are released Friday afternoon. See post #490 on this thread from last year: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-north-carolina-chapel-hill/2024626-unc-class-of-2022-ea-discussion-thread-p33.html, and similar posts in prior years. So Friday is the day.
As a parent whose son was accepted to UNC two years ago and whose daughter is a bit more of a long-shot this year (as all OOS kids are statistically long-shots for admission to UNC), I suggest every high school senior on this thread take a deep breath and not check back here or on UNCās portal until Friday afternoon. Some stress is useful, when it helps you get something done. But realize that youāve done everything you can do regarding UNC EA admission; stressing yourself out about something that you cannot change at this point is not productive. Some of you will get admitted to this great school and some (including many who are completely deserving of admission) will not. Those that do not will find other great paths. Friday may affect where you go to college, but it will not decide your entire future as much as it may seem so this week. UNC is a great school, but whether you go there, an equally or more prestigious school, or a less prestigious school, my experience based on working around very successful adults from a variety of educational backgrounds is that your alma materās US News rank alone is not determinative of success. As or more important is what you do with the opportunities you get wherever you are. Most schools have more than enough opportunities for motivated students to succeed if they take advantage of them.
Please take a deep breath now and another one Friday evening.
Okay, thanks i will! Do you happen to know the email address i should email?
Yea the nerves are starting to come out for me as well, average test score with a 29 ACT, and a 4.222 GPA but Iām at a very rural highschool in state with no AP classes which will help me out.
