UNC computers

I'm not quite sure about their prices yet, im going there this friday to find out. but, in the mean while....
im just wondering if its better to get the school computer with insurance and the program predownloaded...
or pay the same price for a mac without the school program.. (which i dont even know if i will need).

with that in mind...
whats better, pc or mac? haha

well the 4 year on sit warranty and access to a loaner laptop if yours breaks is a very nice feature to have. Also the cheapest laptop at UNC is far more powerful in terms of processing power than the cheapest macbook.

They list the prices here: Laptops . I also got a catalog type thing in the mail a few days ago.

If I were going to UNC, I would get their middle-priced one with the 4-year coverage. Luckily I’m going to a school that covers all laptops for “free”, regardless of where they’re purchased. :D

And where would that be, Beta_Fist?

well i went to UNC yesterday for their orienation thing.
and most of the current students I talked to about were pretty much 50/50 on the laptops.
they said it was pretty convenient that if u break the computer, they’ll fix it on campus, and all that jazz.
but they also said that the quality kinda sucks…
so im still a bit undecided about whether or not i should get the computer at chapel hill, get a mac, or get a pc outside of unc.
Im gonna be doing business major at kenan-flagler (hopefully by my junior year) and one of the girls there told me its better to get pc for the excel…
but wondering if anyone else had thoughts bout that here?
