Nope! Nobody in my family has gone to UNC. I just had really strong extra-curriculars which I think boosted my app!

Does UNC WL or reject OOS if they think you arent going there (likely to go somewhere else based on strong stats and EC’s)?
thats a good question.
I think that is the umbrella term for various special programs and scholarships.
Includes things like honors, accelerated research program, global opportunities, direct admit programs.
Did you get a specific program/scholarship?
Yes I Excel@Carolina for Business
I setup ONYEN and logged into Connect Carolina but under the Student Finances no aid listed. It says to check back tomorrow. I’m in-state BTW.
does anyone know when to expect the official letter in the mail?
Accepted as expected. Will likely go here… why not.
Can anyone give recommendations on how to find roommates?
i volunteer
Congrats!
That means you are one of the (I believe 40) guaranteed admit students to KFBS, one of the top undergraduate business programs in the US (#7 per USN) + some additional perks.
At UNC, students typically have to apply to KFBS summer after Freshman year and they only have room for about 55% of applicants, so guaranteed admission is a really good thing to have!
I have a student at KFBS and have nothing but positive things to say about it.
oh wow thank you so much!!!
on the website it says honors will be announced two weeks after admission. do you think this is still true even though many people received notification during admission?
Thank you! After the deferral from UGA EA, her confidence took a hit, but she got into the SCHC right before Christmas, and now with UNC in the bag I don’t think she even cares about the others. Her mother went there and her older sister is there as well, so it’s looking like I’m going to be surrounded by Tar Heels. OOS is so ridiculously tough at UNC, you may as well be applying to an Ivy. Good luck to your son, IIRC he has some terrific options already.
Does anyone know when we find out about chancellor’s science scholars?
