I might be transferring to UNC from Davidson for the Fall 2010 semester; I'm going to be a sophomore and I have 30 credit hours from Davidson. Does anyone know if all of my credits will transfer, and also, is it possible to graduate in three years from UNC?

All your hours would transfer, but if you only have 30 hours from Davidson without any AP or IB credit, you would be hard pressed to graduate from UNC unless you took summer school almost every year. You need about 120 hours to graduate from UNC, so if you are taking 15 hours a semester, that’s another 3 years your looking at.

Taking more than 15 hours is very doable, but once you get into that 17, 18, 19 hour range, it get’s tough.

Thanks so much. I totally forgot, I do have several credit hours from AP in math, history, and literature. I would definitely plan on taking summer courses, too; I was mainly wondering if graduating in three years was possible in general, like if you’re allowed to at all.

You’re definitely allowed to. I actually know someone who graduated with highest honors in biology in 2 and a half, and another in 3. So it is doable.

Most people want to prolong their stay here though. Just a thought. I’ll be here for all 4 years.
