interested in playing golf in college. anyone know the general handicap for these two schools to be considered as a 'recruit'? thanks in advance

Hi, my son plays D1 college golf on west coast and to play division 1 you should be at least a scratch golfer, shooting some rounds into the 60’s if you want any scholarship money, also you should be having strong finishes in national level events. AJGA, US Junior Amateur or at least very high in your state championship. UNC is ranked much higher than Georgetown about 100 spots higher. So you handicap ideally should be below par or in other words a - index. Been thru the whole recruiting process with my son and would be happy to help you out in any way I can.

Dear momof2010’
My son is trying to play college golf…He’s a scratch golfer, stroke ave. 76, He’s co-captain of Varsity team Junior/Senior year, played numerous AJGA and FCWT tournaments around the country but never scored in the top 10…Was 2nd in a qualifier for AJGA…he’s very talented as noted by all his coaches but has not been able to score well the last yeAR. (He grew late and in fact grew 6 " in a year…making him 6’4") He is a dedicated and college level player beloved by all coaches. His problem is what level of college golf and how to get call backs from coaches. He has 2 Div III coaches paying attention but would really like Div I of course. Any advise? Thanks

Kzena, I will private message you on this…
