alright, so im an incoming freshman at unc fall2010,
and i wanna take a summer course at McGill before i go to unc to fulfill some of the graduation requirements.
i really wanted to take some econ/business classes to get credits towards kenan-flagler business school, but all those classes starts in may, and i dont graduate till mid-june.

so i was wondering what the graduation requirements are for unc?
i saw the website with the 2006 curric, but to be frank, it did not really help.

like for example: do i really need to take a science, history, sociology, etc? or can they be replaced with some other classes??

im strongly leaning to take a history course this summer because of the time frame,
but they're only offering 215 level modern european history at mcgill.
or is it better that i take american history?? help!

With the caveat that you’re going to have to apply to the b-school, here’s the curriculum sheet for Business Administration http://advising.unc.edu/new-curriculum-worksheets/BSBA.pdf

As I understand it, Canadian schools aren’t big on what we can “General Education.” As any major, you’re going to have to complete a significant number of class outside of your major, though less so for business. So you will really have to take a science, history, social science, et al., and they can’t just be replaced by more business classes.

Since you’re an admitted student, it’d be best for you to contact UNC advising and get approval to take a summer class; that way, you know it will count for a requirement.

Note that UNC is offering some summer online courses ([Distance Education at UNC-Chapel Hill: Friday Center Carolina Courses Online Courses Offered](Sites.unc.edu)) But you need to talk to someone there before you spend the money to take any course anywhere.

well is there a specific course that i have to take for the genernal studies. For example for history, does it have to be like US history?

No, you can take any course that would be considered historical analysis.
