Hey, does UNC's legacy count if your parent(s) only went to UNC for Grad School, not undergrad? Thanks.

hmm, not sure. I would assume alumni is alumni.

Don't count on legacy - especially for OOS. My friend's daughter had both parents as legacies, active alumni status, and she was deferred then rejected. She had 1400 sat's and above a 4.0.... ouch. Just don't think legacy means much anymore.

legacy will only come into play if you are a "borderline" (i use that term extremely loosely because almost all students that apply OOS are very qualified) candidate and have identical stats to another student. the scale would therefore be tipped in your favor. as far as grad vs. undergrad... i believe it is just all the same. i don't know why they would make the distinction.

graduate works. my mom went to the school of public health for a graduate degree and we got a letter about her alumni status. she is active though, i believe.
