UNC SAT Subject Tests

Does the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill use the SAt II's in admissions at all? On their website, they say that the subject tests, especially Math, are used as placement tests and that all incoming freshmen should take at least Math in their senior year. I am taking the subject tests in November, but I wish to apply to UNC early. Should I apply to UNC early without the subject tests, or wait to regular admissions and send in my subject tests?

Essentially, I do not know if the subject tests are solely used for placement, or if they add weight to one application over another.

bump

I have the same question. My son is taking Math Level 2 in December (he has one other SATII - biology - under his belt) and it is not clear if they need this score for placement or admission. We also wish to apply EA.

From the UNC website on requirements ( Requirements[/url”>First-Year Application - Undergraduate Admissions]Requirements ): “Test scores - SAT Reasoning Test and/or the ACT (including the writing section, which is offered with both exams).”, so the SAT II is not used for admissions.

But definitely used for placement so take it before you graduate…

Optional, but not required. In other words, they will take it into account if you supply them. If you have good scores, submit them. If not, then don’t.
