UNC Shooting Victim

I'm wondering if people on campus--and the CH community in general--are nervous and worried about the suspect being at large. Even though spring break has started (?), there must be some people staying around?

Idmom, son just came home with a copy of the paper. It is a wonderful tribute. I didn't realize how much more was in the paper than I could access online.

You can get a PDF of the paper here: http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper885/documents/4ab0941y.pdf

The whole UNC community has done a tremendous job in making sure that Ms. Carson's light will continue to shine because there are now hundreds of people who know who she was and how important it is that her spirit continues on.

With respect DukeEgr93, I suspect the "hundreds" in your comment would more appropriately be "thousands". Due to this tragedy, at some level her legacy will extend well beyond the UNC community. She truly did represent the "Carolina Way".

Tyr - you're right.

Thank you for that link.

Yes, thanks! I don't live in NC, but I have friends who do and will pass it along...

Yes, thank you for that link. The event truly is saddening. I do not attend, but I was still touched.

Praying for justice for Eve, or what passes for it in this life. There must actually be literally millions shedding tears for those of you who knew her. With love and sorrow, LF

Congratulations on your win tonight, Tarheels.

Thanks, L. Fortissimo. I'm sure they really wanted to win this one, especially for Eve.

That was one of the best games I've ever seen. The atmosphere was intense and emotional. Great passion shown by both sides, just like Eve would have wanted.

That one was for you Eve. What a great great game. I love how they have an Eve patch on their jerseys :) I am so proud to be a tarheel.

I hate losing, but I'm a little more OK with losing this time...

It would appear there are some leads on the case; hopefully the various police departments will be able to properly conclude this case as well as the other tragedies that have been attached to college campuses of late. We're still reeling from Abhijit Mahato's murder and it seems there are some firm leads on that case.

Thanks to all who have posted different media here - wonderful tributes and remembrances.

abhijit mahato's case was equally sad..
His mom said on the channel (Indian) i was watching: Maine usko kitni baar kahaan thaa, videsh mat jao.
Meaning, i told him so many times, don't go abroad.
After watching this, my mom didn't me to go to UNC (away from my town Charlotte). She barely forgot this incident and now this happened. I just hope my mom doesn't change her mind about letting me go to UNC. After its a great school and in a great area of North Carolina.

The following is a link to an inspiring article. Although it seems to begin on the topic of the Duke-UNC game, it really is a wonderful tribute to Eve Carson and her legacy...

University of North Carolina Tar Heels Official Athletic Site

The Daily Tar Heel is now reporting that they believe there was a second person in her car (which you can see, somewhat, on that footage from the ATM machine).

Right, janieblue. Some people on various internet sites noticed that right away without any enhancing. There seems to be a profile of a face in the back seat in some of the pictures. I don't know if this is a third person, an optical illusion, or the face of the second person. I can't imagine the cops didn't notice this before; maybe they did but aren't saying. I hope this is over soon for the family's sake, and everyone else's as well.

I wondered about that, too. Someone actually had to point it out to me (I was too busy looking at the face)-- but once she did, I clearly saw it. The fact that the police never mentioned it before and are now coming out and stating this suggests that they might know more-- have more leads-- than they're actually telling the media. Or, maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.
