Does residency matter for transfer students? I feel like there's been some controversy over that.

Residency does not matter for transfer students. But given that you’re a freshmen in college currently, that drastically lowers your chances. They will focus more on your high school stats, which based on my knowledge, is not equivalent to the stats of other UNC applicants straight out of high school. Stay at your college for another year, apply as a Junior transfer, and you’ll have a great shot.

Do you have proof that residency doesn’t matter? No one seems to have proof, they just say it does or doesn’t. I feel like it would make more sense that it does matter.
And how does being a freshman in college ‘drastically’ lower my chances? That doesn’t make sense either.
