Two years ago they heard on the 6, so its not out of the ordinary for them to release decisions on this date
I applied to UNC, State, Stetson, Barton, NYU and George Washington.
It looks like last year they noticed their portal change right at 4 pm and decisions were out within the next 5 minutes. This is absolutely nerve wracking. I can forget about getting anything done until at least 5:30 if they dont come out today haha
Dont worry, I think you have a great shot at getting into State. I go there now. I know plenty of people who have successfully transferred. I dont think it is as competitive as UNC’s is, as NCSU is overall not as hard to get into because they are a larger school and can let in more applicants. Don’t worry
Went to 2019 thread. Portal changed at 4:02 ET and someone posted they got in two mins after that.
I applied to UNC, UVA, George Washington, and Clemson (already heard back, accepted). UNC is my reach, but I’m not losing hope due to the fact that some of my friends got in with similar or worse stats than I did.
@unc2023hopeful NC State for some reason gets a lot more transfer applicants than UNC. NCSU gets like 4,300 applicants for 1,900 spots whereas UNC gets about 3,000 applications for about 1,200 spots.
I am positive they’ll be today
I hope it is today. All this waiting combined with quarantine is brutal.
Oh wow. I did not know that! I know a lot of my friends applied to transfer to state this year but I am the only one that applied to transfer to UNC that I know. Possibly because state may be perceived as easier to get into (because I thought it was too). State said they will release transfer decisions on April 15. I would hate to be in their shoes, I don’t think I could wait that long to hear back! Every day feels like a year now, especially with being in my house all the time because of COVID.
@smallairplane what makes you so certain?
Why do you say that?
guys I have been stalking this thread for weeks but never made an account to comment. Hi lol This countdown is making me so anxious
@eiemery I literally just did the same thing. This is so draining.
Man I wonder if the schools know how much emotional trauma we go through waiting for them to release decisions lol.
Glad its not just me!! lol
The checklist is still up on myCarolina, so no change there. I will of course be refreshing all the way up until 5:30 pm if nothing changes at 4 and will keep you all posted lol
I did not know the acceptance rate for UNC transfers was that high. I know it’s still not huge, but I thought it was less than 30% haha.
Looking at the common data sets…
Last year UNC received 2,733 applications and accepted 1,351 students. So a 49.4% Transfer acceptance rate. 831 students enrolled.
NC State received 4,225 applications and accepted 1,816 students. so a 42.9% acceptance rate there. 1,315 students enrolled.
Didn’t someone in this thread say they received less applicants this year?
