Do you guys think decisions will be released during spring break or after spring break?
Well spring break has already come and gone for most of us so we’re all counting on next week. Fingers crossed
Starting to think decisions might be delayed as late as May given the pandemic circumstances. Could be totally wrong. CA extended the shelter in place order until the end of April. Schools closed for the remainder of the academic year, toilet paper still flying off the shelves etc., but maybe things aren’t as dire in NC.
Question for all if you feel like answering. Say fall comes and instruction is still 100% online. Would you be as excited to attend UNC? That might be the reality.
Personally, probably not. I’d be thrilled to get accepted but there isn’t as much incentive to move across the country for online instruction. I’ve had to take about 80% of classes online due to working full time and flexibility needs but its definitely not a preference.
Yea there’s a shelter in place here til the 29th. UNC deadline for transfer apps was in mid February though, so I doubt that they would prolong the decision process until May, but that’s just my guess.
I emailed about that yesterday and here is what they said:
“ Thank you for your email and for reaching out to our office. Luckily, given our ability to do much of our work remotely, current events will have no impact on when we are able to release decisions and we are still planning on releasing them by the middle of April.”
@blackchampion Sweet. Thank you
I go to school right bear UNC and my boyfriend goes there. Today they just made all summer classes into online classes instead of having them in person. Although UNC was one of the first schools in N.C. to force students to move out and decide early on to go online for the remainder of the semester, I don’t think online classes will extend into the fall. I highly doubt that corona will still have an impact in late August and it’s not like the university is losing millions of dollars to the point where it can’t reopen. Since students have been away from campus since March 6th I think we should be good!
Chance me?
I applied last year as a freshman but was waitlisted and ultimately denied. I am applying as a sophomore transfer now.

Good luck y’all!
@Lfriel good to know. Fingers crossed but I didn’t imagine being out of work over a month or this shelter in place order being extended so have to roll with the punches at this point and be prepared for different scenarios. But hopeful things normalize by fall.
@raylo1814 your chances are looking pretty good. Your high school stats and coming from an esteemed university like NYU will definitely work in your favor. Good Luck, I hope you get in
hello everyone! This is my first time posting on the forum, though I have been reading it for awhile. I don’t know about anyone else but now that it’s April, I am getting much more anxious about admission and hope it comes out next week!
could anyone chance me?

I was accepted as a freshman but did not go.
Does anyone know if being accepted as a freshman but not going will hurt your chances of readmission? I did not go because I thought I wanted to do chemical engineering, which they do not offer. However, now I really want to go!
Thank you and good luck to everyone let’s hope decisions come out and we all get in!
If we don’t receive the email about decisions coming soon at some point in the next 90 minutes I think we can safely assume decisions won’t be coming Monday.
@unc2023hopeful Looking at your stats you’re really competitive so i don’t think you should have a problem getting in. And you being admitted as a freshman shouldn’t affect your decision since colleges destroy all information from applicants that get rejected or decide not to attend. They won’t be able to see that you had been accepted before unless you mentioned it somewhere on your application. Good luck!
@unc2023hopeful lol, I would be very surprised if you do not get in with that stats, especially since you are in state.
Yes, your chances are very high.
I haven’t received any e-mail today from admissions about decisions coming soon. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if decisions didn’t come out until next Friday. I am assuming that their process has been delayed a little bit due to the coronavirus. They may have initially aimed for decisions being released around the 6th, but may have had to push it back a few days.
we may not get an email from admission decisions about decisions coming soon before they actually arrive because early action and regular decision applicants did not receive the email this year whereas in years prior they have.
You’re right, they did not receive an email a few days prior to their decisions. So that means they could spring it on us any day! Last year they released decisions on Monday, April 8. Here’s to hoping they follow a pattern and let us know on monday!
Hi guys!
I’ve been checking out this discussion every so often for the past month and decided I might as well contribute to it. Super nervous about admission decisions (that are hopefully coming out next week!). Really late, but would someone mind chancing my stats?
