UNC Transfer question.

I'm trying to prepare myself for transferring to UNC-CH after my sophomore year. I am finishing up my freshman year in college. Right now I have a 3.3 gpa but I hope to have that above a 3.5 once I finish my sophomore year. I'm involved in a few EC's and my SAT score was a 1140 although I'm sure HS stats will carry little weight.

What are some things I can do to help my chances other than raising my gpa?

you can retake the SAT, that's what I'm doing. GPA is most important really a 3.5 is about the average of accepted transfers so you should have a good chance with that.

Having a solid reason as to why you want to transfer and good recs is always important too.

Actually for junior transfer they dont look at SATs, you need to make sure you have taken all the classes required by UNC for the major you are interested in and get a letter of recommendation and you should be fine...

thanks for the advice

SAT's aren't required but if you retake and get a good score it will probably look better than not submitting at all...
