UNC transfer stats? Please

I was wondering if students who were admitted to UNC as transfers could post their stats? I hope to transfer for the fall of 2007, but I'd love to see if I actually measure up to those of you who actually did get in. Thanks so much and congrats!

College GPA: 3.52
School: Rutgers New Bruns
Good Recs, Good Essays, Some Extracirruculars
Its not hard to transfer into UNC-CH...i believe the acceptance rate is pretty high

Ithaca College
College GPA: 3.85
High School GPA: 3.6
SATs: 1270
Decent extracurriculars at college (much better ones in HS), Good essay

How big a factor do you think it will be that I'm coming from a community college? I will at least have my AA and will probably be a junior.

Thanks so much keep them coming!

im sure even if your at a cc and u have a decent gpa youll stand a good chance. When i talked to them, they told me a 3.3 from a 4 year institution would be competitive. As for cc's, im not sure but im guessin a little higher...3.5 maybe.

MaddSkillz thank you very much for the feedback. Come on people I know there are more transfers. Help athlete and I out. If you do and I am admitted for the fall I will personally bring you all cookies.

College GPA: 3.95
School: ECU (in-state)
HS Stats: 3.3 weighted GPA and average SATs
ECs: Some, nothing extraordinary though

Come on, I know you're all out there. If you don't want cookies I can do a cake even.

I wouldn't worry too much. Transfering to UNC is very easy. Almost every kid that I know that applied to transfer got in.

What's considered very easy. I have pretty generic stats and I go to a CC not a four year school. I'm not quite sure what kind of chance I actually have.

For the General College
Applied: 2,996
Admitted: 1,226 (41%)
Enrolled: 885
41 percent is a really generous transfer rate...I'd aim definately for a 3.5 to be competitive

Thank you. How badly do you think one bad grade would hurt? I made the class up though.

depends...like D then A -- or -- F then A, I know several people that failed their class instead because I believe it replaces the F (0.0) with an A(4.0) rather than averaging a D(1.0) and an A(4.0) so it definately is better Failing considering GPA. But they will see the F but taking it again and doing well should compensate a bit

Yes I took the F like a champ. When I made up the class I did get an A. You think they will look at my GPA with the A factored in instead of the F? Even though I'm out of state.

Thanks by the way you've been a huge help.

i believe they look at the GPA with the A since you took the class again, but yeah they will see the F on the transcript but it shouldnt hurt you too much as long as your gpa is decent.....oh no problem, anytime

hopefully in the fall of 2007 I'll be joining you there. What year are you transferring for? Soph or junior? I'm Emmy by the way. Karl is the name of my dog. I'm not Karl who is a dog.

actually what happened was i got in this year as a transfer but decided not to go and stay at my current school, Rutgers New Brunswick, Next year im planning on applying to Chicago, WUSTL, and UNC-CH again so ill be tryin to transfer as a junior also for fall 2007. Chicago being my first choice and then whether i get in again, unc or wustl. You can contact me on aim: sdawg3iverson if you have any more questions about gettin admission at UNC or anything.

Thanks again MaddSkillz I greatly appreciate it. Now come on people I know there are more transfer admits out there. Help a hopeful see if she has a shot. Please...
