UNC, UVA, or College Park?!? HELP!

hello!

i was accepted at UNC Chapel Hill, UVA, and U of Maryland College Park and am having a tough time making my decision (which is due may 1). I'm just looking for a little input...
SO.

I live in Maryland, 30 minutes from College Park. I was accepted into the University Honors Program and recieved the Dean's Scholarship. I got no money at UNC or UVA.
I think I'm interested in Math, Physics, or Exercise Science (Kinesiology)
I am also interested in Theater/Drama
I am NOT a fan of big class sizes, but understand that i will have some.
I want to be involved in college- maybe join club sports teams and I definitely would like to stay involved in theatrical productions.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!
thanks.

Take the full ride at Maryland- this is a no brainer really - Maryland is a great school and the others are not worth much more.

well its not a full ride…but its still significantly lower than the others.

thanks for replying!

Maryland definitely. Save your $$ since they’re all good state schools.

I agree, Maryland would be a better choice. Though all are really great schools.

I have the exact same dilemma so I understand, however UNC and UVa gave me enough FA to make it relatively close to the price of UMCP. I am also a firm believer in getting away from your home so I would cross UMCP off the list.

Now to pick between UVA and UNC is tough. For your majors I would lean towards UNC, plus I like Chapel Hill more than C’Ville.

Good luck!

I’d say if you’re worried about being too far from home, UVa is the perfect distance from you. But, it’s not a school that offers Exercise Science, so if you are really set on that as a possible major, you may want to cross it off your list. Both the math and physics departments are really good, but I’ve heard criticism that the physics labs are older, so you may want to look into that as well.

UNC and UVa are smaller than Maryland in terms of the number of undergrads, so you’d want to consider that in your decision.

Both Charlottesville and Chapel Hill are awesome towns, with LOTS going on, both on campus and off. Great concerts, great restaurants, etc., same as you’d get in College Park/DC area, only in a more compact space.

All three schools are excellent. I prefer the atmosphere at UNC and UVa over Maryland. The first two definitely have a different feel than UMd., and you may prefer that over the other two. Have you visited all three? What does your gut tell you?

haha- i’m having a hard time interpreting my gut.

and i did visit all 3 and theyre all really nice.
i think i probably like the UNC campus the best

i know marylands the better deal, but i’m having a hard time giving up the other 2.
Another reason i’m SORT OF against Maryland is that EVERYBODY from my school is going there, and it is REALLY close to home.
but i do like Maryland too.

i know these aren’t $20,000 reasons not to go to Maryland, but for some reason i’m having trouble committing there.

hey man, i really feel ya here. im choosing between USC and UVa. USC has given me a half ride, so it’s 15,000 cheaper than UVa per year. I like UVa better for a few little reasons but its really hard to compare them to the difference in cost. I think i’ll probably just end up taking USC’s offer because USC is really nice too.
