Hello guys,

This year I was accepted to University of North Carolina and University of Southern California.

But I am having difficulty choosing which school I must enroll.
I am considering Math and journalism(or Communication) major, and I might try to transfer to top Ivy league schools after a year or two. I am thinking of applying to Law after graduation.

Would going to any one of the schools give more advantage when I try to tranfer?

Also, in case I may not transfer at all, which school should I enroll? I don't like the location of USC(I don't like cities), but it seems USC has better college ranking.

Easy answer. Both are great schools, but if you don’t like an urban environment, then NC is your choice.

Both are great schools are the ranking difference is marginal. Go where you’d fit best, and that sounds like UNC.

Presuming you are out of state for UNC, the cost is likely similar.

I am not a fan of transfering and some Ivy League schools dont accept transfers anyway.

You dance with the one who brung ya, as they say. Pick a school and stay there and finish.

Law schools dont care really where you went to school. They care first and foremost about your LSAT score. Then your gpa, then your class rank and outside activities showing leadership and passion for something related to law, particularly public service and non profit work.

There’s no point in transferring from UNC or USC into a ‘better ranked school’ if you want to go to law school.

All of the top schools are judged pretty equally when it comes to law school admissions and the most important factors are your grades and test scores.

Just go wherever you will be happiest and where you think you do the best (i.e. get the highest GPA you can)

Don’t look at rankings if you are looking to transfer. The next college could care less what these schools are ranked so long as you do well. Go to the school where you think you will excel and thrive.

Thank you so much all of you~!
