UNC Wilmington VS UNC Greensboro

So i've narrowed my choices down to these two schools:

I need help deciding which school to attend...I have been accepted to both, UNC Greensboro is within driving distance (about 40 minutes) from my home BUT I am interested in living on campus since it is time I feel for me to get out of the house. I want to major in Media/Film studies which both schools have (although I have heard Wilmingtons is slightly better) and potentially double major or minor in either Business or Marketing.

I am conflicted though as originally I had thought I wanted to be a history/education major/minor, but my true passion is film torn between film and history and I have heard that UNCGs education major is superior to Wilmington

UNC Wilmington I would definitely have to live on campus due to the travel distance (3 hours) and I know I would love the area. Plus being away from home would give me the chance to grow and develop personally.

I posted this on the UNCG board too just to make sure I can get a blend of opinion...

Thanks for any help!

Have you made your decision already? i see your post was after the May 1 cutoff.

My son visited both schools this Spring. I can give you our opinion of each, if you are interested.

Sure I’d love to hear opinions I have seen UNC Greensboro and know a bit more about it since it is an hour away from where I live now and my sister went there

but I like the prospect of being able to be far away and sort of establish myself on my own, which Wilmington would offer…plus they blow away UNCG in the film department.

My son preferred UNCW to UNCG; in fact, UNCG is not on his list of schools he will apply to in the fall. UNCW is, although it isn’t his first choice. Plusses for UNCW were the self-contained campus, the proximity to the beach, and the number of students. The quality of students applying to UNCW is higher at his high school. UNCW would be a target school for him, while UNCG would be a safety. We are out of state.
