UNC with Low-SAT

A guy at my school is saying that he got into UNC-Chapel Hill with a 1080… How is it possible??

Do you think he is probably a liar?

what a stupid question...like any stranger on this board would know any more than you do about this guy...

no.. but i dont think UNC accepts native english speakers w/ 1080 SAT..

Ya NEVA know!!! Maybe this guy has a special talent of some sort or other hook that the school wants - ??? uuummmmmmm - or just maybe his other stats were golden - cuz some kiddos' just don't test that well. Who knows - but that score is not that far out of the ballpark for their 25-75th percentile. Also has in-state priority status too - sooooo who knows

He's in-state, and that makes the chances better.

To quote an adcom at the UNC info session I went to: "We'll accept kids with an 800; sure, it's possible. But they would have to pretty much 'turn water into wine.'" (In other words, be amazing.)

One test does not necessarily prove anything about how smart someone is, and it's entirely possible that he had some type of hook - athlete, legacy, something else - that seemed attractive to UNC when building their class.

wats legacy?

If their parents attented...
