I'm uncertain about Columbia's SEAS..how is the science/engineering department compared to UT Austin or UCLA?

I am looking for a school that will give me the opportunites (great reserach, mentorship, etc) so that I go to a good grad school (MIT, Stanford, etc)
I also want to graduate in 2-2.5 years. I have 60 college credits (entering jr. in Fall 2006)

so wait, you're going to be a junior in college and you want to transfer to columbia, or you somehow have 60 credits before graduating from high school? if the former, of course columbia will transfer the credits. if the latter, then no way, they'll only let you have a few. and even if they give you all of them, you still need to take all of the core and all of your major, which amounts to quite a bit.
