uncertain

So, I feel kinda unsteady about Gtech. I applied for the PS deadline but I got the deferred admission decision email. I don't know if deferrment is just another fancy way of saying i'm out and they're gonna reject me come march. I thought i was at least a strong candidate.

my essay was pretty awesome( if i do say so myself), my grades are really good(well, maybe a few Bs, but like a 4.0+ weighted) and my scores were:
30E32M on ACT. That seemed to be at the top of tech's score ranges.
my cousin reckons that i might not have seemed "techy" enough, i had fairly good ECs but nothing that really jumped out for science/math. but I did make As in both AP bio and AP calc fall semester this year.

my point is, is deferrment a kind of early rejection and is it a good idea to send in my fall semester grades to help boost my app?

thanks alot.

its not an early rejection at GT, and I don't think they look at fall grades if you send em. If they do, I have an envelope to prepare! :D

GT hasn't sent out the majority of their acceptances yet. Deferred in my opinion simply means you weren't in the top 10% (i.e. outright admit regardless of all the other applications they have to sift through this year because of the economy)

^thanks. that makes me feel a little less anxious. i wonder if i should just call and ask them if they want my final fall semester grades, since i didn't really put them down on my self-reported transcript b/c i didn't know them at the time. i think my grades from last semester might really help.
