my initial question was basically, if you're good at alot, what do they want to know first? (since most schools only have like, 8 slots for EC's).

That's not bragging at all.

Blairt, if your actually really good at basketball or soccer then it is important to put on your ECs. I mean if you play like rec. or something then I guess I could see why you want to put down t shirt making and stuff instead.

I asked a question, I got my answer, I said thank you to the person who helped me. If you want to argue amongst yourselves, go ahead. I got my answer and I'm all good, and again, thank you to those who helped.

MSU: didn't you just answer your own question? if not, you can PM me because I have my plan for EC's.

I dont think we want to argue amongst ourselves, since we were mainly arguing against you to begin with..

Maybe the constructive point is that if Blair has readers here rolling eyes her application might have the same effect on readers at the schools. The whole concept of "what counts" is not going to help her.

Also Blairt, have you considered applying for 10th grade where there are many more places and they won't expect ECs to be as developed? You'd give yourself an opportunity to establish peer leadership as well.

Andover takes maybe 20 in 11th, SPS took 2 last year and the others are hard too. If you're this concerned for bs, imagine how concerned you'll be applying for college 1 year from now.

I hope you don't like... kill yourself if you don't get into boarding school.

It sounds kind of like you will though. No offense.

oh i guess i did haha.
i just want to add like 1 or 2 more things that I do weekly, but I have no room.

Haha jonathon dont give her any ideas.

sorry i just spelled your name wrong...i have been studying for exams this whole weekend so im kinda out of it.

That's too bad. :( I only have on final, and it's not until like the 19th or something. My school's schedule is weird, and our term isn't over until then.

Lucky! Yeah, my exams are this week, 1 every day for 2 hours. I'm supposed to write a essay for history, memorize it, and then re write it on the exam.... AHHH

You have to memorize an essay?! I do not think that's a good way do examin someone on history.
I actually wouldn't have any finals, since my middle school doesn't do that, except one of my classes is a high school class. We tried to get our teacher to make an exception and not have a final, since none of our middle schools do that, but she said no. Ah, well. :D

My exams start in two weeks and they are for three days. We have half days, though.

Same here, Jonathan. Mine are Jan. 17-19 (dad's bday). I study the weekend and the night before, and I usually get above 90s (last year I only studied History the day before, though I'd prepared notes the weekend before, and I got a 97) :). It was an easy course, though.

I think English will be pretty easy, French incredibly so, Math OK, Science OK, History hard.

Haha yeah I know, we don't HAVE to memorize the essay. But our teacher gave us the topic before hand, and we are expected to write the essay in around 30 minutes with out an outline or notes or anything, so everyone is memorizing..

Well, that's a bit better. Still, it's not a great way to examin kids' knowledge of history, or their writing skills.
Olivia, you had real finals in the seventh grade? We've never had real finals; we've had "last tests" of the term, but they didn't count for more than any other test. This is the first year I have a final. Sadly, we don't get a half day. :(

I'm pretty confident that I'll get an A in every subject except Algebra. I'm going to devote 90% of my study time to Algebra, and 10% to all of the others combined. Exams are ridiculous easy at my school, but I just have trouble with algebra. It's hard to memorize all the forumulas and stuff.

Now I'm getting some notes off sparknotes for my quiz tomorrow. :)

I've had "real finals" for each class every year. Even in elementary school. This year, our academic courses have finals that are worth 25% of the total grade. The finals can really help you if you are borderline, like me in English. :p
