unconventional major question?

so i applied to a couple of those "BS/MD" programs, but if i end up going through the regular 4 year premed track, i am considering majoring in philosophy. would that hurt my chances of admission to med school?

It'd help, in fact philosophy ranks in the top three for highest % of students in that particular major that get into med school. Also, philosophy'll give you a nice break from the sciences.

A highly conventional type of question that's been answered many times. Please read the part of the FAQs about selecting a major. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/377780-premed-forum-faqs-read-first.html

jeez, sorry for taking up soooo much space on the board... god knows we're running out of it.

The more people who read the FAQs, the better. Hope it helped you. If not, then keep asking.
