My son interviewed Nov. 17th. Has anyone heard anything yet?
My daughter is still waiting anxiously from the film school. One of the speakers during the interview day said that you will know something in 2 wks, however, so far from what I have seen from previous years the students find out one way or another at or around Dec 15th
@rafa10S – we were at the D&P interview day on November 2, and were told in the morning information session we would probably (likely?) hear something in 3 weeks or so. Now it is a month later and nothing official has been sent our way yet. So we practice patience. :))
Has anybody called or emailed for an update on when they will be sending decisions?
Hello, I interviewed on October 26th for D&P (Lighting). I interviewed the first day of interviews where there was only 2 of us interviewing that day. I sent Christina (Design & Production Admissions Counselor) an email concerning when decisions would be made about a week ago. She sent back an email in 36 minutes saying “Most of our departments have rolling admission. However, the lighting faculty are going to review early applicants again after more interview days have happened, so just hold on a little longer.” This might not help if you did not interview for lighting, but I am sure they are working as hard as they can to get us some good news. I am now hoping to hear something before Christmas. Best of luck to everyone else who has already interviewed.
Hello, For the film applicants who interviewed on November 17th expect a email back around December 12th. I’m very nervous too but I know that the applicants last year interviewed on November 18th and they heard back by Dec 12th. They typically send waitlist emails first before acceptance ones so be patient.
@likelyButNot Awesome, thank you. This was helpful. I heard last year, the people who were wait listed for film heard back around the 8th. So I guess when this Saturday rolls around, no news is good news right?
Thanks. Does anyone know how many they took from the first group last year? Sounds like they take very few to start with, but then they have a chance to get off the waitlist in May. I guess it’s all just speculation. Waiting is hard!??
@sassgirl I heard they take about 20 each interview round. But about 100 for the whole year, so some flexibility.
Does anybody know if they’ve started sending the deferrals/waitlists yet? Still trying to figure out this process! I know they said 2 wks, but it’s now 3 and I haven’t seen anybody who has heard one way or another. Oh well!?
I haven’t received any emails yet… I’m not sure if anyone else has but please let me know if you do because I’m super nervous lol.
Let me know if anyone’s emailed admissions for any kind of date on admission decisions or such!
UPDATE:
OK I just called admission.
They said they were held up because of the snow so decision should go out next week.
So you should get an email about some decision next week.
I appreciate the update.
Thanks!
@FilmLove Would this be just for Film Applicants or would it be for all of their different schools that have interviewed?
The only school (undergraduate) that has had interviews so far is the Film school (Nov 17th), all other schools will have them starting January 1st
@rafa10S – D&P had interviews on November 2.
Orangefish, I did not realize that. Per information on the uncsa website it has the first on campus interview for D&P starting Jan 11th. did you interview on Nov 2? was it through skype?
@rafa10S - my daughter interviewed on campus (with many, many others in D&P) on November 2. She has been recommended for acceptance. It is our understanding acceptance packets (for D&P) will be mailed in January.
@River1270 This is just for filmamaking from interviews on Nov. 17. I’m not sure about D&P, I feel like they should have gotten notification by now since it’s a smaller pool of applicants anyway… I suppose you’ll have to call to get an answer. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
