connections - did your sons EZ portal say “admit decision”?? I am curious since my daughters says “contact admissions”, after reading the forums I guess we should expect a rejection letter.

DEDramaDad–I don’t know, I don’t have access to his portal–let me ask.OK–he says that his EZ portal hadn’t changed last he looked!

DEDramaDad – I don’t know that you should read contact admissions as a rejection. It sounds like this year – unlike last year – UNCSA is not using the portal to notify people of its decisions.

Still no letter here! More waiting. I’ll take that over a rejection though.

They never even updated that they received everything even though they had. I emailed and asked if my D should contact them and was just told no and status letters are being mailed. We will wait anxiously. I guess we will know soon.

Connections, has his EZ Arts still not changed? My S seems to have decided it’s not going to show up there and has stopped checking.

I just noticed all of the financial aid cost information went away from the EZ Arts site, I am a little bummed. I think its obvious what that means. Maybe the letter will come today.

If rejected from UNCSA I believe my daughter will be going to Western Carolina University, even though we have not received a definite yes from the Drama department she has been accepted to WCU and the honors college. We all loved the time we spent there. There really have not been many discussions about WCU, I would love to here from current or past students from the School of Stage and Screen at WCU.

Still waiting here, and stalking the mailman intently. No letter from UNCSA yet. My D’s financial aid page on the EZArts portal is still active. Anyone else noticed anything about that page?
Two students on the FB page mentioned they are still waiting to hear from UNCSA as well. Between CC and the FB page there are only a couple of acceptances.
And @DEDramaDad, you may want to start a new thread with your question about WCU.

Fingers and toes crossed for your D dramamom0804!!!

I recently got another email about financial aid from Darren Chiott at UNCSA, but apparently its because my file was selected randomly for verification. I’m hesitant to fill out all the info because odds are i didn’t get in

No letter today either, but her portal has changed to say “please contact admissions office.” Uh oh. That was not a good sign for others. Financial aid stuff still there though. Just called and left message as D at rehearsal until after office hours. Any news for others?

Got the rejection letter today :(, on the bright side the dean said i was highly rated and should audition again. I plan to spend a year at UNCG and really soak up as much as i can and apply again next year. Thanks everyone.

binkyacts - That is a bright side! They didn’t ask my son to audition again.

My daughter received a rejection letter today, the letter was from Bill Poole not the dean.

I remember a parent posting about this “contact admissions” item last year on the drama major forum. I just can’t recall what they were told when they called but I do seem to remember it turned out with an acceptance You might want to check the drama major forum posts from last year by searching UNCSA. Best of luch to everyone!

lightingmom – the thread where the UNCSA stuff was discussed last year was called Waiting, Waiting, Waiting. It was pretty similar to the “vent” thread this year. I think you might be confusing our experience last year where we found out that “Admit Decision” meant a positive decision. I don’t remember contact admissions being an acceptance. But – I don’t think the take away from contact admission is a rejection either. If they are going to reject, they can just send a letter. Nothing to be gained by having them contact admissions.

anyone in this thread going to the workshops held at UNCSA for the international thespian society competition?

Binkyacts – the letters telling an applicant to try again next year are rare – only a handful went out last year, so while I know it’s hard to have been rejected, if you have the option to do something for a year and try again, I would recommend it!

Really? Thanks for the info i’m definitely going to come back next year because UNCSA is literally 20 minutes from where I live. I’m gonna spend a year at UNCG in the BA theatre program and possibly get an acting coach. I’ll also have a chance to talk to Bob Francesconi at the workshops and hopefully get some feedback.
