<p>Are there any courses that CAS students are required to take their first year? </p>
<p>Since I haven't yet decided on a major/career route, I was thinking of just taking random courses to fulfill electives throughout this coming year, is this a good approach?</p>
<p>You have to take a composition course by the end of your first year, I think.</p>
<p>Do you have a general idea of whether you want to do something related to science, vs. something related to humanities? If you’re thinking science, I would start tackling your intro science/math requirements, just so you’re caught up with pre-reqs for more advanced courses in future years. </p>
<p>There aren’t any courses that are required of first years (they strongly recommend taking a writing seminar at some point during freshman year, but you could postpone it)</p>
