I have a gpa of about 3.4 (unweighed) plus ACT: 26.. (retaking ACT and taking SAT in november)
and some extracurricular activities like band and chess, etc...
will it be easier to get into undecided?
and if I do get into undecided how hard is it to get into engineering??
I heard you have to keep a gpa of 3.6 during your first 2 yrs at uiuc
to get into engineering....
if anyone knows any info or tips I'll really appreciate it thanks..

Apply to your desired program. You can apply during the priority registration period, but if you haven’t signed up for the September 11th ACT test, your scores will not reach UIUC in time. You can still retake the ACT and apply during the regular registration period, however. There is no penalty for applying to the program you want. You will be automatically considered for DGS(undecided), if you are not admitted to engineering. The middle 50% of Engineering applicants had an ACT in the range of 30-33, and a High School Percentage Rank in the top 92-98% of their class. Your ACT is well below that range. You’ll need to bring it up substantially to have a chance at Engineering.

Thanks for the feedback clearly understood :)

If you get accepted into DGS, you can take the same classes that freshman admitted directly to engineering will take. Your grades will determine whether you will be accepted for transfer into the engineering program of choice.
