Undecided or specify a major?

I hear that the 'not-so-popular' majors are the ones with the highest acceptance rates & v.v. What if I selected a major 'undecided' ?? Then I needn't make my essay very specific as to why I want to go this school... Hmm, I think not. It does make me sound so unfocused.

Also if I have accumulated 47 semester of transferable course credit (or 37 as I was a part-time student last semester), should I expect to enter directly into Junior class? If possible, I want to enter to the Sophomore class... Does it matter in determing my admission?

The very best thing you can do in your application is present yourself as you actually are:

If you are interested in an unpopular major, specify it and maybe that will be a plus factor.
If you are undecided, say so and use your essay(s) to show what your interests are and how you will be determining your major.
If you are interested in a popular major, specify it and why the school you seek is right for you and you for it.

I don’t think we can answer your last question without knowing which school(s) you are considering, their policies and more details about your credits (I can’t even tell whether you will have 47 or 37).

Oh, my question has been moved here..

I’m not quite sure how many credits will be transferred once I get in.
e.g. credit is not granted for courses taken “on a part-time basis.” @ Harvard
So probably 37. Also universities probably want me to spend more than two years $$$
