Undecided vs architecture?

Do your chances go up if you are Undecided vs trying to get into a selective program, like Architecture? Will they deny acceptance into that school but still accept in Penn?

You cannot put a second choice major. You can only apply to one major. If you are denied, you can call and ask to be reconsidered into another major, but there is no guarantee that they will accept you because the majors fill up as time goes by.

It is definitely less competitive to apply DUS (Undecided) vs. a selective major at PENN STATE. If you are talking about Penn, you are in the wrong forum.

Yes talking about penn state. Thx for info…now wondering if it would be best to change to DUS…

If your intention is to ultimately get into Architecture by applying as undecided and then switching, you should not consider this approach. The Architecture school only takes about 60 students a year and the course work is studio based. You have to take these courses in progression. You would be wasting a year with no guarantee of being able to transfer into the Arch program; which is virtually impossible to do.

The architecture program is tough to get into, and even tougher to transfer into.

Yikes. My stats are 1350 SAT, 3.75, NHS, Spanish NHS, 2 varsity sports all 4 yrs, varsity captain. Am I doomed?

Especially if you’re applying as an Architecture major, get that application completed by the priority deadline Nov 30. Most Bachelor of Architecture programs are very selective.

OH yes-I completed it all almost 3 weeks ago.
