Undeclared major at brown

I know, I’ve been asking a lot of questions lately, but…

Given that brown has an open curriculum, does that mean it is not wise to apply if I plan on being undecided for a semester or two? Is it common for students to take courses in a variety of fields first before declaring a major? Because that’s probably what i’ll end up doing. I want to get a taste of everything before I make such a huge decision, but is that type of thing supported by the faculty/advisors at brown, and do they generally help you in making a decision? thanks for any comments

I am not really decided. The open curriculum will be good for me because I will be able to sample some classes from various departments and get a better idea of what I want to concentrate in.

Although I applied as a classics major, I always sort of planned on changing it, or if I stuck with it, doing a double concentration. The open curriculum is too great a thing to not take advantage of.

My tour guide told me that Undecided is the 2nd most popular major at Brown... whether this is good or bad remains to be seen, but at least you won't be alone! Like Rabo, I applied as Classics but I plan on probably changing or doubling.
