Hi! First time posting on UCD’s board, mostly because I didn’t bother asking questions about the school since I didn’t think I would get in!

Anyway, I have a question about the undeclared option at UCD.

I was accepted into the “Undeclared - Physical Sciences major.” However, I am not completely sure if I want to study the majors listed specifically under the Physical Sciences page here: [UC Davis : More than 100 majors](Majors | UC Davis)

These include: Atmospheric Science, Hydrology, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Natural Sciences, and Physics.

I would, however, not mind majoring in any courses in the College of Letters and Science. It’s just that since I applied in November, I have really expanded my taste for other subject areas.

[UC Davis : Undeclared and Exploratory Majors](Undergraduate Admissions)

There it says that “Students accepted in any of the undeclared major options are automatically enrolled in the respective college’s academic program (Academic Options Program),” which for me is the College of Letters and Sciences.

Does that mean that by the time I declare a major, I can declare one in a different field (for example, Psychology in the Social Sciences field) even though I applied as an undeclared physical sciences major?

Any help and clearing up would be great!
