Bed depends on the dorm as some dorms have drawers under them (don't occupy all the space, but some about 1/2). You can't really store stuff in the dorms though, so you have to find/make space in your room somehow.

The floor of your dorm is a fine place for all your storage needs, but your roommate might get mad if your stuff starts blocking the doorway. Err, I mean, your room should be fine for your suitcases and all your things (as long as you didn't need a moving van for it) and the good amount of stuff you accumulate throughout the year.

Posters, wallscrolls, and picture frames are good for blankly staring at while you stave off depression, but you get a lot of free posters too.

I'd bring a coat that can withstand a good amount of cold (not sure where you live, but some people are shocked by the fact that it snows in Pennsylvania), and a lot of sweatshirts.

As for electronics, your laptop and music player should be good; you can always watch TV and play video games in someone else's room.

All that other stuff you can get at the many stores around campus, ie. it's obviously not a big deal if you forget to bring a toothbrush or a notebook or something.

Bring a lot of underwear if you're really lazy and don't do laundry often. This is KEY.

i second the underwear part, and also bring just as many socks. Bring a lot of clothes hangers so you can air out your shirts and stuff so you can hold out on laundry as long as possible.

In hill at least, there were dressers underneath the beds, but there was room behind the dressers to hide my luggage
