Under the hood

I was wondering if UT offers a technical course for car mechanics. I know few of the basics but would like to get more comfortable with what's under the hood of my car. Something that's academic, yet also hands on or all hands on ...maybe something like a continuing education class or a weekend class?

There are a wide variety of classes offered - check the informal classes catalog for the fun classes at the Texas Union - but I don’t think UT offers this.
Here are the informal (non credit) classes

Or, here are the extension classes

I am sure some organization in Austin offers classes like this.

No, UT isn’t a vocational school. Try A&M.

It’d be easier to find a class on the mechanics of a bike. “Under the inner tube”. XD

hmm… A&M seems too far away to travel on the weekends & I am already enrolled in UT but thanks for the input.

"“Under the inner tube” – haha really wasn’t looking for that

I did look into informal classes and some of them are pretty interesting, although I couldn’t find car mechanics.

thx

You can always enroll in Austin Community College and take an auto mechanics class there. They have campuses all over town, and may even have night or weekend classes.
