Undergrad and med school at same school

Say i go to UCI for undergrad and i want to go to UCI med school, would it be easier to get into the med school since i already go to the school. I heard that it is harder because they want new poeple.

the majority of the people are still most likely going to be from UCI. most schools are like that. However, it's probably going to be just around 5-8 kids from UCI and all the other from other schools.

it might help somewhat...for example with Michigan's medical school. like 35 out of the however many get in are from the U of M undergrad....it doesnt have a big effect and it is still incredibly hard to get accepted cause you still need the grades, MCAT, etc...but it does help a little in getting to the interview stage of the process...at least at UM it does lol

I don't know how it works for private schools, but for state schools it's going to be very common simply because most state medical schools favor in state residents - and in staters are most likely to go to their state schools.

UCI's med center is just a mile or so from Disneyland. :D
