Undergrad business admin transfer

Hi,
So I'm just wondering what my options are in terms of transferring in Fall 2012.

I currently attend Santa Barbara City College, and I've just finished my first year there with most likely a 3.8 GPA. I've finished all of the usual business prerequisites I've seen except for managerial and financial accounting, and I also still have 2 semesters of English and Calculus to finish. I thought I was going to have a 4.0 after this semester, but recently found out that I got a B in both macroeconomics and intro to business!! (missed too many classes and screwed myself...) How much is this likely to hurt my chances of getting into a highly ranked business school?

Some other information about me:
I'm white
I had around a 1.9 GPA in high school
SAT- around 1850
My essay should help me a lot (I'm in a way an orphan)

Given the above, what are some good business schools I should apply to? I am up for private or public schools. Some schools I have been looking into already are UCB Haas (was originally my top choice), USC, UCI, NYU, and GWU. I am starting to feel that my less than perfect GPA and lack of ECs will make most of these choices improbable. However, I might have a connection to someone on the board of admissions at USC, so that's quickly becoming my highest hope.

The grandmother I used to live with passed away last October and left me a considerable sum, so money is not really an issue anymore.

Will waiting this long to take calculus hurt me as well? I am planning on getting straight As throughout my last 2 semesters at JC. I am definitely capable, as long as I don't make any more dumb mistakes!

One last thing! I am not satisfied with my SAT score and I know I could do a lot better. I took it twice during high school but I didn't study either time. I know the biggest things holding that score back the last time I took it when I was a senior were my weak math skills (I didn't care too much about anything back then and especially not my math classes) and I also didn't realize the length of my essay would have such a large impact on my writing score. So what I want to know is if taking it again sometime during my next school year (or this summer, but if I remember correctly it's only offered once or twice during the year) would be a good idea? I know I could at least get a score over 2000, but I'm unsure if the schools I apply at would even see the newest scores.

if you send the scores to the schools then they’ll see them,

you should definitely take calculus as soon as possible, a lot of schools looking at transfers won’t just look at the GPA, they want the high GPA, which you have so far, in rigorous courses

your high school record might hurt you, but most schools don’t even ask for incoming juniors’ high school transcript, so you wont need to send it

get involved! i think youll want something to talk about to show that you will make a good addition to the community of whereever you apply

good luck
