Hi! I have trouble choosing between UT Austin McCombs Regular, Boston College Carroll and Northeastern Honors (mainly UT vs BC) for undergraduate business. I’m leaning towards UT Austin due to the in-state tuition, but am not sure since I’m didn’t get into BHP.
Is Boston College worth it? Is there really a big difference between McCombs regular vs BHP? Please help me choose where to go!
Also, is there any way to get a cheaper tuition rate at BC? As far as I know they don’t supply merit-based scholarships (may be wrong)
Hi Mccombs is a terrific business school and a great university. Boston College May be worth it for some and not for others. They are both fantastic ug business schools. Different experiences but not one is better than another. It depends on the individual.
Saving money is a good business practice when the options are nearly equal.
No, you are correct that Boston College does not offer merit scholarships. They have 15 Gabelli scholarships available but that is invite only and are already allocated.
I would go to UT in your case and have a great experience.
Where do you want to work is the important question. Boston? Go with Carroll. Close to home? Stay with UT. New York? That’s a harder question, but I’d still be inclined to go with in state tuition.
When I was growing up in the Boston suburbs, BC was notorious for being cheap with fin aid of all kinds; and that certainly proved true when I applied. I don’t think much has changed.
Thanks for your insights!
Did you end up choosing UT McCombs for your undergraduate?
