Undergrad Business: OSU, BC, or UVa?

Hey guys! I am looking to go into business (not sure what major yet) and I am trying to find the best undergraduate business program.

Of the following three programs, which do you think would be the best for me?

Ohio State's Fisher College of Business (I live in-state and have already been accepted both into the college and the Ohio State Scholars program)

Boston College's Carroll School of Management (Accepted)

Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce (No decision yet)

Your opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Lol…how would we know what’s best for you? ;)

With that being said, I would have a hard time explaining why you should pay OOS tuition at UVa or private tuition at BC, over in-state at OSU. What is it about those schools that would make paying the premium a good option (scholarships, unique programs, family connections, ECs…etc)?

OSU has a solid program, that’s particularly strong in accounting, OM and supply chain management. UVa has a overall higher ranked business program, but is that worth the OOS tuition ($40K a year at UVa)?

OP, you intend to go into business. I suggest you run the numbers on what your salary would need to be to make up for any debt from those other schools. My guess is you’ll find the numbers don’t work.

make me a third. show some business sense early in your career.

Both Boston College and UVA meet 100% of financial need, so depending on the OP’s income, they could be just as affordable as OSU. Run the net price calculators.

Although UVA as well as their business program is the highest ranked of the three you listed, you must be mindful that you cannot apply to McIntire until spring of your sophomore year. You’re competing against some of the very brightest (self-selecting…some who start off with the intent of business won’t apply because they’re GPAs aren’t competitive). This being said, they still only take around half of the applicants. A bird in the hand… Thus, if you’re 100% sold on business and feel you’re among the very brightest, shoot for UVA; otherwise, you might be better served at BC or OSU.

UVA hands down
