Undergrad business program

Is the undergrad business program at CMC direct admit or is there a follow-on application after freshman year?

Claremont McKenna does not have a business school or business program. The closest would be an Economics and Psychology dual major. Or perhaps the 4 year Robert Day BA in Economics/Masters in Finance program.

They do seem to have an Economics-Accounting program and plenty of business and finance classes. Are those not reachable for undergrads?

There is an Economics-Accounting program but it is not like a traditional Accounting degree. A traditional Accounting degree would either be a BSBA in Accounting or a BS in Accounting from a business school. Claremont McKenna offers a Bachelor of Arts in Economics-Accounting, in which you take a mixture of Accounting and Economics courses. It isn’t as thorough of an Accounting education as an Accounting program from a business school.

And there aren’t any business courses at the school, because there is no business school or business major. There are finance courses, yes, and those are part of the Economics major. But there is no major in Finance. The only true way to “major” in Finance at CMC is to be Robert Day Scholar (a prestigious program in which around 10 per graduating class graduate with a Masters in Finance alongside their BA in Econ).

So in short, yes, there are accounting and finance courses available to take but an important distinction is that you are not majoring in Business and the college has no b school.
