Thanks downprince.

imo if you want to go to an undergrad business school you should either go to wharton or the #2 or 3 place or not at all. the idea of squeezing a full business education into 4 years of undergrad leaves a lot to be desired. a place like wharton makes up for it by surrounding you with insanely smart, driven students and legitimately expert faculty. it is a rewarding experience even if you don't plan on doing finance, you can take what you learn and do something else.

all the negatives i have heard about wharton about it being too competitive and full of cutthroat students are way overblown. i only hear those complaints from kids who dont go there. penn has a reputation for being slightly on the preppy side and ivy students in general are sometimes accused of being too lily white and privileged, but the group of kids is very diverse and down to earth. i am very impressed with it.

^^^highly elitist opinion that I will stuff in my salt shaker with the other pointless opinions I hear all the time.

Well ur opinion sucks.

ohh....no wonder

Guys, what's your opinion of the Honors College @ Baruch?

where would Bentley College stand?? doesn anyone know?

Bentley College (MA) 3.2

and newyorker:

Baruch is 49. I've heard positive things about it academically, but the fact that its a commuter school shed me away from it. It would be high school all over again. It has a good location for business and I'm sure has good recruiting, but you have to consider the competition it has from NYU Stern.

Thats funny, since full time top MBA programs are only two years

Columbia has a 1.5 yr accelerated MBA program.

Wow, I feel good about going to McCombs at UT then after seeing that it is top 10 and even top 5 in almost all lists. Especially since I am going into Finance and it's 5th.

I would feel good too except for the huge tuition increases.

The Katz school at Univ of Pittsburgh also has an 18-month MBA program (same time period as Columbia's)--so the 4-year comment from our Wharton friend needs to be looked at closely.

I have a live case: a son of a good friend of mine was accepted to these two programs. Now he is not sure which one to choose from. He does not know much about USC business program in undergrad level. His son got 2180 in SAT. Genius in guitar...Any thought on this tough choice? I reckon both are good schools and he may not make much mistake either way. But, my friend is weighing which side he should guide his son to.....Any help or comments would be much appreciated...

Lived in LA for 30 years and it's not bad. USC has a great program, it's a beautiful school (although the surrounding area sucks), and the weather is fantastic. (It's hard for this UCLA alumnus to admit these good things about USC--but). Also, I believe taking a business major vs an econ major is always preferable.

The one negative about USC (besides its location) would be its new tough grading curve. It has adopted the "Stern curve" meaning the average GPA in any business class can't be over 2.85 (C+). So the question, is "Can your son be at the top of each class?"

Good luck to him in his decision.

so what do you guys think about stern vs. wharton? i was rejected from wharton and i was nearly as happy to get into stern. am i overreacting? i believe that stern is home to great opportunities as it is located in nyc. please tell me about your opinions.. thankss everyone
