Undergrad: Carnegie Mellon vs. Georgetown?

I've currently finished freshman in Carnegie Mellon (Tepper Business), and I got accepted to Georgetown University as a transfer in political science/economics major. I've applied to Georgetown because I felt that CMU is a little weak in terms of humanities, and to get into good law schools you need good English skills (Being that I am an international student). If I go to Georgetown, I feel that my writing and English skills could be a lot better off and I could do a better job when I actually get in, but I just don't have the confidence that I will end up with a good GPA (I finished my freshman year in CMU with a 3.9 GPA, although there are three more years to come I am more confident in CMU with the GPAs than Georgetown).

I know there are a lot of other factors when choosing whether or not to go to a different school, but just considering the chances of me getting into one of T-14 law schools, which university do you think it will give me a better chance to get in?

if you prefer poli sci and econ to business…then you should go for it…

gtown will definitely be a challenge b/c they’re great at poli. sci.

but your concern for english shouldnt be your overwhelming factor especially if you can take electives at carnegie mellon in english and such…

penny- I think CMU has a pretty strong writing dept. Check out courses in creative writing-technical writing etc on the website.
Friends kid just completed a masters at CMU in that field and she also did her undergrad at CMU.
My gut tells me a degree from Georgetown or CMU would be viewed comparably by law schools- so just figure out where you think you’d be happier over the next 3 years.
Both great schools with loads of opportunity- no bad choices.
