What Undergrad schools to I-banks most often recruit from? I know that they recruit alot from the ivies, but where else?

just from the top of my head: nyu stern, mit sloan, berkeley haas, umich ann arbor, usc marshall

mostly ivies, mit, stanford, nyu, and also a few publics like michigan and berkeley

Ivies, Williams, Amherst, Duke, MIT, Stanford and Caltech.

for ivies, upenn wharton is usually the best

Do you have to have a major in econ to get recruited for those positions or can you just do a minor in it and major in something else?

Stanford has business undergrad?

stanford has economics

what major do you have to do to be likely to get a job at IB?

I want to major in pharmacy and get a pharmD. Would i still be able to get an IB job?

Highly unlikely.

well, you don't necessarily need a "business" degree. Just take finance classes, maybe major or minor in econ, and you're set. I don't think there is a specific major for I-banking jobs.

BTW, is that you ZeroX? didn't you get banned!

you can definitely major in something completely different (engineering, poli sci, etc.) and still do fine in investment banking. My old mentor (Haas graduate) used to do I-banking at Credit Suisse First Boston (SF Branch) and he said that all the companies want are just that you are good at whatever you do.

Does taking a finance major give u an advantagethough?
