Undergrad focus?

Is Rice a college that really focuses on the undergrads? And are the professors/ administration accesible?

I read about that and i put those down for the "Why Rice?" short answer question...But the problem is, i'm not really 100% sure that its true.

Rice is definitely one of the few research universities truly committed to undergrads. In fact, USNWR ranked us #11 for Best Undergraduate Teaching. After taking classes here for 5 weeks, this is quite clear.

so what about the administration?

President Leebron regularly invites students to come have dinner at his house, randomly picked from a pool of students who express interest in doing so by sending an email.

When I visited Rice they told us explicitly that if you want to be a teacher or professor, do not go to graduate school there. The professors are very passionate about their jobs and about teaching undergrads. They also said about the only classes graduate students taught were the language classes that were not offered as majors. I’m not sure if this is true but it’s just what they told us at the info session.
