Is it possible to apply to Haas in your sophmore year and finish it your junior year? Or at least a semester early? I have a few AP credits, most importantly a 5 on AP lit and an expected 4/5 on Calc AB (I think those are the only ones that actually give you credit?). Also I have enough credits to gain sophmore standing if that matters.

Sure, it’s possible.

The lower division requirements are: UGBA 10, MATH 16A/16B (Calculus AB won’t get you out of either of these), ECON 1, and STAT 21. Luckily, a 5 of AP Lit gets you out of all Reading and Composition requirements. These can be done within 2 semesters, along with the 7-course breadth if you take a lot of units, and from that point on you can start (or at least try) enrolling in upper division classes. From that point on, you must take 38 upper division business units and 12 upper division units towards anything. That will be 50 units in 4 semesters left, along with any breadths that you haven’t finished. Definitely doable, but it will be hard (if not impossible) to get upper division business classes as an undeclared sophomore and also there’s no question that you’re going to have to work your butt off. I wouldn’t recommend it. Why go out in the real world before you have to?

The main reason I want to get out early is because I would like to enroll in some computer programming boot camps (Hack Reactor) and get some practical programming experience to complement my business background. UC Berkeley CS sounds too theoretical for me and more focused on grad school.

At least this is the idea.

Yes, take four business upper division classes in first two years (econ 100A/B, UGBA 102A/B or 103) and you shall be able to complete in 3 years. Take minimum 17 units per semester to complete some other elec upper division courses while satisfying breadth requirements.
