Hi everyone! I'm a high school senior going through the process of deciding where to apply and what to enter college pursuing, and after considering my interests and doing some research, I think Computer Engineering sounds like a really good fit for me. However, some of my favorite universities don't offer Computer Engineering - they offer other engineering fields and Computer Science. I was wondering whether it would be possible/a good decision to go to one of these universities and get an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, and then transition into Computer Engineering when I get my graduate. Do the two fields have enough in common that some study in Computer Science will help me in achieving my final engineering goal?
Thanks for any help or insight you can give!

Computer engineering usually emphasizes more hardware aspects. If, as a computer science major, you take the hardware oriented courses like digital systems, computer architecture, and embedded systems, as well as electrical engineering courses in integrated circuits and the like, as supplements to your other computer science courses (perhaps including those “closer to hardware” like operating systems, compilers, and networks) then you should be reasonably well prepared for graduate study in computer engineering, or computer science with a hardware emphasis.
