Undergrad major for law school? HELP

I currently attend UC Davis as a incoming junior and I am planning on changing my major. I used to be a biology major but I decided it wasn't what I wanted to do. I just want to know what is a good major for law school as well as if a communication major will be sufficient to get into law school. After browsing through the majors I did realize that Davis is more of a science oriented school so we don't have pre-law or criminal justice majors not giving me many choices.

Thanks!!

You can have any major and go to law school. You definitely shouldn’t major in either criminal justice or pre-law because they are worthless. A sudden change of heart in career paths raises other concerns, however. How much do you know about the practice of law? Have you any personal experience from interning?

@Demosthenes4 I do have a family member who does practice business law so I know a little about it. I don’t have any experience from interning but hopefully this year I can get a intern while I’m at Davis. Do you know any majors that would be better geared towards going to law school?

There really aren’t any majors that better prepare you for law school. Law school admissions is about maximizing your GPA, so pick a major you like and can do well in. I also recommend double majoring or at least minoring in something that provides you skills you can sell an employer if law, for whatever reason, doesn’t work out.

@Demosthenes49 Okay thank you so much! I will probably end up majoring in comm. and do a minor in business.

Two things count for law school admission–grades and LSAT score. LSAT concentrates on critical reading, analysis and logic problems.
