undergrad major

I was thinking I could major in art history then go to the law school. Is it matter big when I apply to the law school?? I mean, do law schools look at the undergrad major more important than the undergrad school the applicant is from??

For the most part, your major doesn't matter. Art History is fine.

The main point: major in something you are passionate about! you'll probably get a higher GPA in an enjoyable major than you would in a major that you hate.

Very interesting article that I highly recommend you read that relates to success and practice: http://www-news.uchicago.edu/citations/06/060507.levitt-nyt.html

thanks! that article really gets to the point! I will always keep in mind that I will do better on what I love than what I think I should love and that I should do the deliberate practice!!!! I'd better read their book, "Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything.". The article sounds essential.

We should really just pin a thread that answers questions like this, which seem to come up all the time. It could say, "no, your major doesn't matter," "yes, community college classes count toward your LSAC GPA," "no, the grades from your master's program don't count, and no, the degree won't help you," "no, you shouldn't take any pre-law classes," and "no, it doesn't matter what UG you went to."

yawn Another useless liberal arts major using grade inflation to try and squeak by into a decent law school.

It gets rather boring.

Okay, I'll get a 2.0 in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell!

Well guys, thanks for all the necessary posts, not to mention the helpful advice!

We should all make unnecessary posts!

Just like the one I just made!
