I want to go into medicine in the future. For undergrad, i know the typical pre-med major is biology. But i'm not interested in all parts of bio (plants, evolution, etc). So is it possible to take physiology for undergrad and still go into medicine at graduate school? Would this look bad on my grad school application?

bumpppppppppp

Dude its been two hours late at night and you’re bumping your thread?

To answer your question: Your major doesn’t matter, but you do have to take a standard set of pre-reqs, which includes a year of bio. And you aren’t going to get very far before evolution is discussed at length, with the plant kingdom getting some time of its own.

What Icarus said.

Are there many majors other than biology that fully encompass premed requirements?

Biochemistry would… but basically, you just pick a major and then take the pre-med courses as electives.

Or just read the degree plan for your university…and see if the requirement for the degree satisfy the “pre med reqs”
At mine, many nat sci majors count.
