undergrad prestige

how much of a factor is the reputation of your undergrad school for grad school admissions, especially for health-related fields (such as OTD, MPH, PsyD)? is it worth to spend all that money on the undergrad education?

Short answer: no.

The question is whether or not you are going to need to spend "all that money" on a more prestigious school. For many people the more prestigious school is cheaper.

If you have a very specific goal, you'll want to look more at specific programs than the school as a whole.

A longer answer than the one I posted before is that attending a prestigious undergrad can be helpful, especially when applying to grad schools, not because of the school's prestige per se but because of the ressources available at such schools. For instance, if you attend a school like Harvard, chances are you will have the opportunity to do interesting internships and get LOR's from famous profs, both of which help when applying to grad school. That said, although kids who go to a prestigious UG are advantaged, they arent that much more advantaged than those who went to, for instance, a large state school. Also, they are markedly LESS advantaged than a student who went to a mediocre, of even poor, school and excelled if they too did not excel in UG.
