Undergrad Programs & Choosing Colleges

I'm confused about what undergraduates do in college in relation to your major. So tell me if this is correct: as an undergrad you take required courses as well as courses in your major, and by the end of the 4 years you get your bachelor's degree (2 for associate's). My questions:

(1) What do you do if you have an undecided major?

(2) Should I not attend a liberal arts school if I'm pretty certain I know what I want to study?

(3) How important is studying your intended field as an undergrad, like if the school doesn't have a program you want or like is it not worth going there?

(4) How important is getting a bachelor's degree, if that's how it works?

Specifically, should I not go to Harvard, for example, because they don't have a program for bioengineering, which is what I know I want to major in (note that I said bioeng, not biomedical eng, they're different!)?

(1) What do you do if you have an undecided major?

 • Pick one

(2) Should I not attend a liberal arts school if I’m pretty certain I know what I want to study?

 • doesn’t really make a difference

(3) How important is studying your intended field as an undergrad, like if the school doesn’t have a program you want or like is it not worth going there?

 • Depends on the field. Want to study physics but they don’t offer science classes? Go somewhere else.

(4) How important is getting a bachelor’s degree, if that’s how it works?

 • Depends on your goals.
