Hey im curious to know whether grad schools only care about credit bearing courses, or non-credit bearing as well if they both show up on transcript. Thanks!

bump... im really hoping for a response.

What are "non-credit bearing" courses? Like a tennis class?

well like pre-freshman courses

I guess I still feel like I need more information. If you had to take a remedial writing course as a condtion of admission, or if you attended some sort of elite pre-frosh academic boot camp of accelerated classes, I'd imagine admissions committees would find it of note.

well they were courses taken in contigency to the acceptance: basically pre-frosh courses of the courses we will be taking in the fall. I want to know though would grad schools mainly focus on the actual credit bearing courses, or these as well. Like if you did poorly in the summer courses, but got a 4.0 during freshman yr in the credited classes, how would they view that (harvard, duke, stanford, etc)?

iwannatopcollege

Are you talking of Developmental Studies or Remedial courses?

If you are, then it is alright. Everyone has to start somewhere.

I have never heard of this with the pre frosh courses of those one takes in the fall.

yea they are summer courses that students in HEOP have to take before freshman year. They are not remedial courses. They are pretty much the same course one offers in the fall, except this is not credit bearing.

What are you interested in for grad school?

definitely med or a phd in bio/chem
