Undergrads doing Master's?

Hi there!

I was doing some research and found out that both Penn and Stanford have well established programs in places that help undergrads work towards getting their Master's and Bachelor's degrees either simultaneously (or their Master's just after doing their Bachelor's).

I was wondering whether HYP (and Harvard in particular) offered anything similar to Penn's Submatriculation scheme or Stanford's Coterm guide?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: in place* not ‘in places’.

Yes. Google on AB AM Harvard. Harvard’s bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees are abbreviated thusly.

Thank you!

It would be unusual to find a college that grants master’s degrees that doesn’t have some kind of organized joint baccalaureate/master’s program.

Both Harvard and Yale offer master’s in certain majors at the end of four years of college, but you have to plan your courses very carefully, and of course have to be good enough to start taking their graduate-level courses by your junior (preferably sophomore) year. Princeton does not offer such a program.

While Penn offers submatriculation and Stanford offers coterm, I believe these normally require an extra year, i.e. five years altogether. Unless you are on full financial aid, they are not particularly attractive, since many of these master’s can be obtained in one year on a stand-alone basis anyway.

Brown and Cornell also offer faster accelerated paths to master’s in certain majors. I believe Brown’s can be done in four years with additional course-load; not sure about Cornell.
